Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia is excited to present our Crack the Safe 50/50 Fundraiser — a three-month community raffle to support our programming and the arts in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
This unique event is inspired by an authentic piece of history: a super old safe in the basement of the Mermaid Theatre building that has been there since the building’s days as a department store. It’s become a beloved local curiosity, and now we’re putting it at the heart of our fundraiser!
Buy a ticket for your chance to win 50% of the pot — and be among the only ones who get to discover what’s inside the historic safe when it’s opened.
Support the arts in Windsor by sponsoring a seat at The Mermaid
For $300, or two seats for $500, your name, business name, or the name of someone you wish to honour—will be engraved on a custom brass plaque affixed to the armrest of a brand-new theatre seat. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate your connection to the arts and become part of The Mermaid’s exciting new era.
Please note: Sponsoring a seat does not include reserved seating for events. Seat sponsorship itself includes only the brass plaque with your chosen name, permanently placed on a seat.

Theatre Beyond Classrooms
Our Theatre Beyond Classrooms programming promotes the excitement of reading, supports analytical thinking and reinforces a positive communal and cultural experience outside the classroom and into Mermaid Theatre. With opportunities to attend live performances and in-school puppetry workshops based on curriculum, children learn teamwork, creativity, and the importance of performance.
